Landing Net Gear
Landing nets have a tough life. Forced
through weed beds, stood on, left out in all weathers and abandoned to
slowly fester between sessions, things ain't easy for a net! Nets have to be
bomb proof so you can rely on them when they are really needed.
Looking round our tackle sheds it soon became clear why we got through so
many nets. Threads on the ends of poles coming loose, spreader blocks
snapping off and poles disintegrating. The join between pole and spreader
block was the weakest link. So we set about creating the mother of all
spreader blocks, one that fits right over the end of the pole, creating a
tight fitting collar. We also beefed up the block and moulded it from tough
nylon reinforced material. It might be more prize fighter than super model,
but who would you want on your side in a fight? |

Springlock Nets
- The revolutionary Springlock nets have
a continuous cord, reducing wear and tear. One arm is fixed in place,
insert the section arm, which is under minimal tension.
- Fit the spreader block onto the end of the pole and then put the net
cord over the slider.
- Pull back on the slider until it locks in place. The net is now locked
and ready for use.
- When a fish is netted the trigger can be pressed, releasing the
tension. The pole can then be removed and the net rolled up making
it much easier to carry fish to the waiting un hooking mat.
