- Drill out core and fill with cork to create balanced hook baits.
- Buoyant Baits are much easier for fish to pick up, so are taken
further back into the mouth. This greatly increases hooking and reduces
fish losses.
- Use the drill to bore out the centre of a bait. The drill should be no
more than half the diameter of the bait to stop the bait breaking down too
quickly.
- With practice, you will be able to gauge the amount of cork required
to give you the buoyancy you require.
- Cut off the cork stick and push it into the bait.
- Pass a baiting needle through the bait and cork, so that the cork is
held in place by the hair.
